You had a great time last year, so don't miss the event this year! Have fun and support a great cause. See how much help you were last year by going here: If you have any questions, please go to the Register for 2003 page which includes FAQ's.Don't Golf? Can't Make It? No Problem!! Please click the link below for your ALS donation! You will get a tax reciept. Your generosity is much appreciated! Donate $50 or more and we will secure a golf cart for you so you may cheer or geer your associates as they whack away! Please forward this link and invite all of your industry partners, and others for a really fun day of non-business golf. We all have fun, and more important, we give a significant amount of funds to find a cure for an incredibly ugly, brutal, and rapidly fatal disease. We take a deliberate loss on this event! The OSIAW is a casual golf outing that takes place every year in early October. Generally, partners from the information technology industry get together on Columbus Day to take a break from the office after a busy government buying season, ending on September 30. It was founded in 1997 by Jon Teunis when he realized that there would only be a few days left in the season for prime golfing conditions. OSIAW stands for "Oh Shoot, It's Almost Winter," or some form thereof. Last year, we held our golf outing at Worthington Manor Golf Club in Urbana, Maryland between Frederick city and Rockville. The first year in 1997, the total number of participants was 4. Last year in 2002 we had over 60. This year in 2003 we hope to break 80-100. In the past we had always played pretty much standard golf with no prizes or fund raising. In 2001, we did take voluntary donations for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and The American Red Cross. Last year we supported the local ALS foundation, and the coordination raised over $1,700 for the cause. To see the gratitude, Click Here. Each year it has grown somewhat, and for 2003, we hope to have at least 90 attendees. On this site, you will find pictures and information on
the 2002 OSIAW, and registration for the 2003 event to take place on
October 13. If you were unable to make it last year, please browse
this site and consider joining us in October. |
